João Azevedo, BSc (Hons), MSc
Director & Echo Lead
João is an experienced Clinical Scientist and echocardiographer, and Director and Echo Lead at Sanus Cor. He is accredited in Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography by both the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) and holds an MSc in Cardiology from Brighton & Sussex Medical School.
With extensive clinical experience across several NHS Trusts, including Guy’s and St Thomas’, Barts Health and Harrogate District NHS Foundation Trust, João combines expertise in echocardiography with experience in clinical audit, governance, training and service leadership. He is an HCPC-registered Clinical Scientist and has also worked as a FICE mentor and supervisor.
Jamie Harding
Operations Manager
Jamie is Operations Manager at Sanus Cor, helping ensure the organisation runs smoothly across operations, compliance, workforce coordination and business development. Working closely with clinical and administrative teams, Jamie supports effective service delivery, strong governance and responsive client support. Jamie also works directly with NHS Trusts, ICBs and Primary Care Networks to develop flexible insourcing solutions tailored to local demand.

Dr Anastasia Vamvakidou
Medical Advisor
Dr. Anastasia Vamvakidou serves as Medical Advisor to Sanus Cor, providing expert clinical oversight, governance support, audit review and specialist guidance across cardiac diagnostic services. A UK-trained Consultant Cardiologist, she completed her cardiology training within the London North West Deanery and has extensive NHS experience in advanced echocardiography, valvular heart disease and endocarditis. She holds British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) accreditation in transthoracic, stress and transoesophageal echocardiography and is a BSE assessor for stress echocardiography.
Leonor Borba
Clinical Audit and Education Coordinator
Leonor Borba is Sanus Cor’s Clinical Audit and Education Coordinator and an HCPC-registered Clinical Scientist with extensive experience in invasive and non-invasive cardiology. An accomplished echocardiographer, she holds BSE, EACVI, and RCS-CCI Adult TTE accreditations. Leonor oversees clinical audit, quality assurance, and educational programmes, helping to maintain the highest standards of cardiac diagnostics and patient care across Sanus Cor.
